Reality
Yet when the dream is done, you see,
There is nothing but reality.
Cold and harsh neutrality.
Finality.
When looking up at the sunlit sky,
In a world where only birds can fly,
You realize your hopes were much too high.
Deny.
And when you see you are on your own,
You will carve a heart right out of stone.
The hardest heart you have ever known.
Bemoan.
I sincerely wish that you were here
To brush away all this fear
And substitute it with something clear.
Frontier.
I remember when you were by my side,
And in you every thought I could confide.
Why did you choose for your thoughts to hide?
Divide.
Before I realized it, my love was gone.
For I could no longer be your unfeeling pawn,
And we finally reached the dusk of our eternal dawn.
Foregone.
But not soon after I began to fret.
Had you been captured because of my foolish bet?
Devoured by some unknown threat?
Regret.
Yes, I wish you were here with me
For one more go at fantasy.
An escape from this mortality.
Reality.
