Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Sleep Is Death
[Video Link]
You never really realize how valuable your time is until someone is paying you for it.
Anyway, here is a "new" HAWP video (and by "new" I mean like a month old). Also, HAWP has a cool "new" site that you should totally check out. Anyway, enjoy your respective Memorial Day weekends (if you're in the states)! I won't be enjoying mine!

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Psychonauts
[Video Link]
"Ash dives into your brain!"
Haha, I suppose some minds are just better off unread. But still, that looked kind of painful.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: The Most Dangerous Game
"Pokemon is a very dangerous game."
Wow, it has been a long time since I posted one of these. At least this one is funny, though. Enjoy.

Catching Up With HAWP
"The Burches enter the sordid world of DVD board games."
"Ash pitches her movie idea."
"Enough mind-bending similarities to detonate your dome?"
"The ballad of the Boomer."
It has been forever since I poseted one of these... so I thought I'd just catch up in one big HAWP post. Great idea, huh? Enjoy! The L4D2 one was definitely my favorite. Por que?!!!!

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Little King's Story
"Anthony and Ashly Burch enjoy videogames, surreal humor, cupcakes, and videogames. In that order."
So HAWP has apparently started back up? And they're already spoofing the Hitler outburst scene from Der Untergang? While actually speaking German (or at least speaking really good fake German)? Awesome. Too bad no one cared about Little King's Story, haha. If you interested in seeing the original scene, then follow this youtube link.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Viva Pinata
"Fathers can game too!"
Haha, I don't quite know what "season" this belongs to. It was good to see an episode completely devoted to Papa Burch though... even if it was kind of lame.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: The Sons of Big Boss
"Can epic music make up for spectacularly bad martial artistry? Your call."
So this apparently marks the end of this season of HAWP! Rejoice! I can't believe the season ended the way it did! I was so shocked when... wait a minute... since when has HAWP been doing seasons!? Well... enjoy the episode and the completely amazing voice cameo at the end. Don't you just love having friends in high places?

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Metal Gear Solid 4
"The end begins."
So that is it with the filler posts. I've finally eaten an actual meal, even if it was just fried rice and orange chicken (I'm sure that interests all of you).
Anyway, this episode of HAWP was pretty awesome huh? I have really been enjoying these Metal Gear Solid references as of late. Sure you probably wouldn't get this episode if you didn't actually play Metal Gear Solid 4... but too bad! You should quit wasting time and just play it. I've beaten it three times and enjoyed every second of it. Heck, here's an even crazier idea: play the whole MGS series. I know, crazy right?
Also, I think the HAWP crew is going to be going on hiatus for a while. Ash has declared that this episode is the second to last of the "season," but I wasn't aware of an episode count or anything. Ah well, we'll just have to see I suppose.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Like Big Boss
"Dear God, we hope this still feels relevant."
Funny because I love Metal Gear Solid, but creepy because Mr. Burch is such a weird guy (in the videos at least). This video is based on one of... ugh... Andy Samberg's many (and slightly annoying) songs entitled "Like A Boss." Caution though, the video is definitely not for the kids. Well, not respectable kids anyway.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Once Upon A Pixel
"Who says fairy tales can't include walking nuclear tanks?"
Best HAWP ever. Hands down. Not only is the artwork amazing, but subtract some of the comedic elements and add about thirteen (if you're new) hours of gameplay, dialogue, a few more bosses, and a proverbial legion of enemies then you'll have the first Metal Gear Solid game (I link to the Twin Snakes because it is vastly superior to the original Playstation version).
On a side note, you should all play Metal Gear Solid 1-4. Right now. If you don't, then I'll be forced to eat all of your lunches. Respectively, of course.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Katamari Damacy
"Sometimes life isn't funny."
Wow, Anthony can be such a downer sometimes... I hate it when games have an overarching message that takes all the fun out of playing them. They're just supposed to be games! Sheesh...

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Lips
"Some songs we need not sing."
Papa Burch is the coolest... even if it still pained me to see that game break.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Street Fighter IV
"Ash and Anthony pay homage to the king of all fighting games."
A Hey Ash that actually starts off with a game introduction?! It has been so long. Also, that is an awesome Sakura costume. You just can't deny it.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: The New Gamer Dictionary
"Like Webster's, but with more references to Metal Gear."
It was awesome until the end. Then it just became strangely

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Yoshi's Cookie
"Ash stuffs her face in a spoof on this classic video game."
Finally, another Hey Ash that I found to be somewhat funny! They got a bit lazy for a while there.

Yet Another Hey Ash Double Feature
"A flashback reveals Ash's machinations."
"Never accuse Ash of false advertising."
I have been holding these for a rainy day because they really weren't that great. Well it isn't exactly raining, but my original post is too large to finish tonight so you'll just have to settle for this.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Geometry Wars 2
"Ash brings two young lovers together."
So this episode WATCHMEN was kind of... umm... weird. There really isn't much else to WATCHMEN say, I suppose.
WATCHMEN.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin Double Feature
So I have definitely been slacking off on Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin videos so here are the lastest two videos... IN ONE POST. Can you handle that? I don't think you can.
"No resetting."
"Ash shows off her strategic mind."
"No resetting."

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: Persona 3
"A nation mourns."
The funniest thing about this episode is how close to home it hits because one of my roommates is currently playing Persona 3 and I asked him the same question when I saw the "initiator" sequence for the first time. I really like the game play elements in Persona 3, but I just can't help but scoff at all the fangirls and fanboys out there who are only playing it because they get to pretend they are Japanese school kids (the game is part sim). Ah well, enjoy your suicidal magic teenagers.

Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin: 2008 In Review
"Ash and Anthony discuss how last year measured up to the year before it."
I found this episode of HAWP to be especially interesting, aside from being hilarious, because I honestly don't know why a lot of people are calling 2007 such a big year for gaming. I mean, there were some big games, but I found myself passing on quite a number of them. What about Bioshock, you ask? Well... what about it? I haven't had an excessive amount of time with the game, but from what I've played there really isn't that much too it. Half-Life 2 is still light years ahead in every department. But I digress... enjoy the video!
**I really like Ash's new hairstyle. It makes her look a lot more femine... though I didn't mind it short.
